LGBTQ+ Pride Month is a global, month-long celebration and observance honoring the history, culture and civil rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Primarily taking place every June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York, local events and parades are held worldwide to promote visibility, equality, and inclusion.
Local Derby & Derbyshire Celebrations:
- Rainbow Walk: The annual sponsored 5-mile walk supporting Derby Pride takes place on Sunday, May 31, starting at the Derbyshire LGBT+ Centre and finishing at The Crown Inn.
- Derby Pride 2026: The main family-friendly LGBTQ+ festival will take place on Saturday, September 12 at Markeaton Park in Derby. The event features a parade, a huge funfair, market stalls, and a main stage headlined by Gareth Gates.
