Our autumn vaccination programme is getting underway, and we are pleased to let patients know that our flu vaccines have now started to arrive.
Children and pregnant women – vaccinations available now
Following a delay in receiving these vaccines, we can now offer flu vaccination appointments to eligible children and pregnant women.
Invitations are being sent with details of how to book. If you believe you are eligible and have not received an invitation, you can also contact the Practice to book.
Other eligible adults – from 1st October
In line with the national vaccination programme, we cannot begin vaccinating our other eligible adult groups until 1st October.
We will be offering appointments throughout October, both during the working week and on Saturday mornings.

Royal British Legion clinics
We will also be holding two larger vaccination clinics at the Royal British Legion on:

Saturday 17th October
These clinics are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and are not a walk-in service. Please do not attend the Royal British Legion unless you have a booked appointment.

Please support your Practice by having your flu vaccination with us
Every year, Mickleover Medical Centre purchases flu vaccines specifically for our eligible patients.
The NHS does not supply the Practice with our stock of flu vaccines for patients aged 65 and over or those under 65 who are eligible because of a health condition. We order and purchase these vaccines ourselves in advance so that they are available for our patients.
We would therefore really appreciate your support by having your flu vaccination with us if you are able to do so. Your vaccine has effectively been ordered with our patient population in mind, and our team is providing additional clinics throughout October to make vaccination as convenient as possible.
Invitations and appointments
We will send invitations to eligible patients with a link to book an appointment.
Please don’t worry if the first appointments you see aren’t convenient or appear to be full. We will be adding further appointments each week throughout the programme, so please be patient and check again.
If you would prefer not to use the booking link, or are having difficulty finding a suitable appointment, you can always call the Practice and our team will help you to book.
COVID vaccination
Patients who are eligible for a COVID vaccination this autumn, including those aged 75 and over and eligible patients under 75 who are in an at-risk group, will be offered their COVID vaccination at the same appointment as their flu vaccination.
This means that, where you are eligible for both, you should only need to attend once.
