The closure is to enable all staff (clinical and non-clinical) at the Practice to attend mandatory training .

SAIL

SAIL is a registered charity based in Chesterfield. They offer free, specialist counselling to anyone residing in the Derbyshire area who is over the age of 18 and has experienced sexual abuse, sexual violence, or incest at any point in their lives. They offer free Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) services to practically support survivors, including support through the Criminal Justice System (CJS), and also run a free, confidential helpline to provide emotional support and practical signposting where necessary. 

 Counselling service

Offering free, specialist counselling for adults aged 18 and over in Derbyshire who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, incest or sexual violence. Counselling is delivered in locations across the county. All Counsellors are qualified or on placement from Universities and Colleges and have a deep understanding of the recovery journey. Ongoing support and supervision is provided to ensure they are working to the highest professional standards. SAIL follows The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy’s (BACP) Ethical Framework. 

Individual counselling is offered initially for 26 weeks, and can be delivered face to face, over video call, or phone. 

They offer Art Therapy and Drama Therapy, using a blend of talking and creative art making and several types of creative and performing arts to facilitate emotional release, exploration, and healing. 

They also offer peer support groups and group therapy in a space created for the opportunity to connect with others who may also identify in some way as survivors. Topics covered include safety, stabilisation, self-care, and assertiveness.
